A harrowing incident has come to light in the Isua community of Joinkrama 2, Engenni Kingdom, situated within the Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State. Reports reveal that a group of armed gunmen executed the abduction of over 10 individuals, which included four children, on Tuesday, August 9.
DAILY POST reports that the victims, predominantly comprising women and children, were ambushed while en route to their farm on the opposite side of the Orashi River.
A close relative of one of the kidnapped individuals, choosing to remain anonymous, disclosed that the kidnappers have not yet initiated any communication for ransom demands.
The incident has plunged the Isua Joinkrama community into a state of grief and distress. Occurring in the early hours of August 9, 2023, as the victims ventured into the wilderness to gather sustenance for their families, the abduction has left a trail of anguish.
