Bandits have killed about 10 residents and inflicted severe injuries on others in Pinau town, Wase LGA of Plateau State.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening December 12 when the locals just returned from their weekly community market.

It was gathered that the assailants stormed the community and shot sporadically, killing not less than 10 defenceless residents, and injuring many.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase has condemned the attack, and has vowed that the killers would be made to face the wrath of the law.

Wase described the Sunday attack, which resulted in the death of 10 persons with several others injured, as ‘inhuman, senseless and unwarranted’.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, in a statement on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, described the killing as “painful and highly regrettable, especially at this period when the people are striving hard to earn their means of livelihood”

He said; “My sympathies are with the families who lost their loved ones in this callous act. These senseless killings are painful and highly condemnable. I pray that the Almighty God accept the souls of all those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident.’’
