100 Days in Igumale: James Oche’s enduring legacy – Social integration, peace and community development

A post graduate of Peace and Conflict Resolution, James Oche brought this to bear monumentally in his administration of Ado Local Government by engaging a peaceful disposition to the resolution of crisis, especially between the people of Igumale and Fulani herdsmen through familiarization visits. He has consciously pursued the unification of some of the communities especially in Ijigban who for several reasons had severed commercial ties from the rest of Ado and engaged with people from Ebonyi State. The unprecedented organization of the 2020 Ujor (New Yam) festival remains a scar on the face of the people of Ado. Never, in their testimonies, has the ujor be marked in such a manner. The attendance cut across people from all walks of life and the unity and development of Ado was central to the discussion. He has also giving the Izzis and Ezzas due recognition as bonafide members of Ado by appointing them into his government and also ensuring that they get benefits as every other Adolite would. A thing that has triggered them to name him their political leader.Oche in 100 days has made frantic efforts geared at the unification of the land. These efforts are known and highly appreciated by the people.
