A Jos Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 14-year-old boy to six months in a juvenile home for stealing two grinding machines.

The verdict was handed down by Magistrate Shawomi Bokkos on Friday, after the minor pleaded guilty to the theft.

In addition to the juvenile detention, the magistrate imposed a fine of ₦20,000 on the boy and urged him to reform his behavior.

Prosecutor Inspector Ibrahim Gokwat informed the court that the theft was reported on July 1 at Laranto Police Station by local community leaders.

The minor, who acted with accomplices currently at large, stole the machines valued at ₦50,000.

However, the machines were recovered during the police investigation.
