Oyo govt condemns abduction of corps members, seeks safe release

The Oyo State Government has begun coordinating with security agencies and authorities in Imo State to secure the release of abducted corps members from Oyo State.

The state government said it was deeply concerned about the incident and had activated contacts with the relevant authorities to ensure the victims return safely to their families.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan on Friday.

According to the statement, Governor Seyi Makinde has directed the deployment of necessary resources to support efforts to rescue the affected corps members.

The government also said it was working with the Imo State Government, security agencies and the National Youth Service Corps NYSC leadership to ensure a coordinated response.

It expressed sympathy with the victims and their families, assuring them that their safe return remained a priority.

The state government urged the families to remain calm while rescue efforts continued. It also called on security agencies to intensify operations to secure the victims’ release and arrest those responsible for the abduction.
