20 kidnapped medical students in Benue rescued

Twenty medical students who were kidnapped in Benue State have been rescued, according to security sources. This information was disclosed on Friday.

The rescue operation was led by the Office of the National Security Adviser and involved a coordinated effort among various security agencies, including the police, DSS, and military personnel. The Benue State government also provided support.

The students had been abducted last Thursday while traveling along the Otukpo/Otukpa/Enugu federal highway en route to Enugu State for the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students’ annual convention.

Following their kidnapping, an IG team arrived in Benue State on Monday and was immediately sent to Otukpo to search for the abducted students.
