20-year-old man confesses raping, killing underage girl in a church in Oyo community

Kolade Tosin, a 20-year-old man has explained how he raped and killed one Ifeoluwa Apanpa, 17, inside a church at Olodo area, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

It was gathered that Tosin, after raping her, stangulated her for giving him a wrong password for her phone.

While speaking with newsmen on Tuesday September 20th, 2022 at the Oyo State Police Command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the suspect said he committed the crime with a knife which he used to scare his victim.

According to him, “On 17th September, 2022, when I got home from work, I took the key of our church because my mum is the cleaner of the church and went to church.

“I already knew the time Ifeoluwa would pass through our church to her own church. She eventually passed and I asked her to assist me to carry some of the chairs I packed.

“I took out my knife from my pocket and told her not to shout; I wanted to collect her phone but she dragged the knife with me and the knife fell down.

“Whle trying to escape, she got weak and I raped her. I took her phone and requested for her password; she gave me wrong password, when I discovered that, I strangulated her.” He said.
