2019: Ogbadibo APC bows, affirms Asutine Agada as House of Assembly candidate (Photos)
The All Progressives Congress in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State has affirmed the candidature of Comrade Austine Agada as its standard bearer for state assembly election.
There were moves recently by some party chieftains to deprive Agada, a native of Owukpa of his mandate, a development that sparked nationwide controversy.
Agada had accused some leaders of the party, including two Buhari’s appointees, Dan Onjeh and Audu Ogbeh of trying to steal his mandate.
Following the uproar and the condemnations that trailed the moves, the party leadership has finally affirmed Agada’s candidature.
Speaking at the party’s secretariat in Otukpa, chairman of the APC in Ogbadibo, Andrew Ocheme (Dangote), affirmed that Agada remains the party’s flag bearer.
Ocheme called on members of the party and the people of Ogbadibo at large to join hands and deliver bloc votes for the youthful politician in 2019.
“Like our elders would say, the voice of the people is the voice of God. Austine Agada is our House of Assembly candidate an there is no two way about it.
“We are behind him and would surely join to celebrate his victory in 2019,” Ocheme said.
In his response, Agada said he remained eternally grateful to leadership of the party, especially the chairman who stood gallantly by him when some elders came to steal his mandate.
The young politicians promised not to abuse the privilege if given the mandate in 2019.
