A former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting for presidency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He declared the ruling party as “a no-go area” for Jonathan.
Recall that Fulani herdsmen and Almajiris, had on Monday obtained the APC N100m nomination form for the ex-President.
But Jonathan, in a statement by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, disowned the group, saying he did not authorise any organisation to obtain the form for him.
Reacting, on the plan to draft Jonathan into the APC presidential race, Dokubo said in a Facebook Live monitored by this newspaper: “I am not in support of Goodluck coming to contest election under the APC. 100%, I’m not in support. Because many of his followers fought the APC government, and had gone hungry throughout this period, without any aid from him. And without consultation, he will just come out.
“If Goodluck wants to stage a comeback, let him go to other political parties: YPP, SDP, etc. Why should he want somebody to anoint him before he contest election?”
