Renowned politician and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Usman Abubakar has said that the election of Chief Steve Lawani as the first Benue governor of Idoma extraction if going to be a war.
He, however, said the war would be fought without weapons.
Abubakar made this known while speaking in Otukpa, Ogbadibo LGA at the official declaration of Lawani to run for the office of Benue State governor in 2023.
While urging Lawani to work with elders of his clan ahead of the election, Abubakar warned that enemies within must be curtailed ahead of the “bloodless war.”
His words, “Our coming here this afternoon is for consultation. I followed Ochagwu and the party excos down here today to consult with the spirits of our fatherland and of our motherland of Ogbadibo people.
“We are going to a war, a war without weapon! It was Good that told Moses that if he really wants to fight Pharaoh, that he shouldn’t go straight. So Ochagwu, don’t go straight go and appeal to the wise men of your land, consult them and seek favour from them.
Ochagwu sir, we must do the right thing, they should give what belongs to Caesar to Caesar.
