Media professionals from Igede land under the auspices of Igede Independent Media Practitioners have identified with the gubernatorial ambition of the Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor, Mr Terver Akase.
Speaking during a courtesy call on Mr Akase by the group, its Chairman, comrade Henry Ipole said they had decided to support Mr Akase’s aspiration owing to his refined nature as cool headed, but dogged in the discharge of his duties.
He stated that Mr Akase has made the youth proud by his professionalism in the management of the image of his boss, Governor Samuel Ortom where he disagrees with people without using harsh words.
According to Ipole, Akase belongs to their constituency and as their neighbour from Konshisha, he would sustain the initiative of his principal Governor Samuel Ortom in ensuring the return of lasting peace between people of the two local government areas.
Mr Terver Akase in a response, said he was humbled by the visit, describing the media as pathfinders and true nation builders who could do what others fail to do.
The Chief Press Secretary said through the visit, the group had planted a seed that will germinate and bear fruits for generations to feed on.
He stated that growing up, he knew Igede and Tiv as best of neighbours but criminality had crept in and is causing disaffection among the people.
Mr Akase who said he would tender his resignation letter to the Governor tomorrow, said Security, Youth Employment and Agriculture will be the three cardinal points on which he would anchor his campaign.
