2023: Three Idoma sons emerge governorship candidates in Benue
Despite failing to clinch the tickets of the leading political parties in Benue State, three Idoma natives have emerged governorship candidates on the platforms of various political parties, IDOMA VOICE reports.
IDOMA VOICE recalls that the major parties in the state – PDP and APC failed to cede the number one slot to Benue South despite agitations from the zone.
While Titus Uba emerged as PDP candidate, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia controversially emerged as the flag bearer of the APC.
Not deterred by the development, three Idoma natives have decided to pursue the Idoma governor’s dream on the platform of other political parties.
Bible scholar, Ewaoche Benjamin Obe, also known as Oj’emeri won the Action Alliance Congress, AAC, governorship ticket in the state.
Obe believes that it is time to ‘take back Benue’.
Former Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre also won the Accord Party guber ticket to pursue the Idoma governor’s dream.
The Otukpa-born psychiatrist anchored his campaign on Forward Benue.
Serial governorship contestant, Dr Aba Samuel Inalegwu is still in the race for the Benue number one seat.
Dr Abah had severally contested on various parties’ platforms for the seat but failed to pull through.
This year, he is running on the platform of the National Rescue Movement, NRM.
Abah is ready to lead the Benue youth revolution.
