Dr. Abdulmuminin Kabir Usman, the Emir of Katsina, has stated why he is endorsing Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the presidency.
Usman said he is backing Tinubu for president in 2023 because the presidential candidate helped him in a variety of ways while he was a district head.
Given their long-standing connection, the king said he will help to the former Lagos governor’s campaign and advise him as needed.
He stated this on Friday when he hosted members of Senator Abu Ibrahim’s Arewa Organizations Movement for Asiwaju at his Katsina palace.
“We will look at any movement he is involved in, and we will assist where required and correct where necessary,” he added. Tinubu was governor when I was district head, and he has helped me in several ways.
Tell me why I should disavow him now that I am on the throne and he is running for president.
“So, Tinubu, the man you brought here, is a son of the soil, and he has done a lot for me.”
I went in Lagos three weeks ago for the first time since 1967, and I saw how the city has changed, and I came to the conclusion that Lagos has all of the country’s riches.”
He maintained that Tinubu is the only person that can solve the security challenges facing the north and has the ability to return normalcy to the region.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, told the emir that if supported, Tinubu has the wherewithal of addressing the challenges of the country.
He said the delegation was therefore at the emir’s palace to solicit his blessings, support, and advice on the actualization of the dream of the Arewa Organisations Movement for Asiwaju 2023.
