A member of the House of Representatives and 2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Benue State, Herman Hembe has urged Nigerians not to vote for APC again.
The lawmaker wrote on his main Facebook page on 10th July, 2022.
Below are excerpt from the Hon. Hembe’s post;
“Good evening.
Having learnt about the decision of the ruling APC to adopt a Muslim/Muslim ticket, I want to say the following.
1. That it is interesting to me, a Christian northern Nigerian that the APC has not found a single Chriatian Northerner worthy of their vote.
2. That it is obvious to me that as far as the APC is concerned, Christians are not co equal partners in the north of Nigeria or in their version of Nigeria for that matter.
3. That what played out in Kaduna state with El Rufai picking a Muslim/Muslim ticket that has clearly come to stay, is a clear and present danger to my faith.
4. That Christians in Benue in particular, Northern Nigeria and all of Nigeria in general are under attack which has persisted for a while now.
5. That this clear attempt to remove Christians from the leadership of this country as APC attempts, is despicable and must be resisted by all men of good will.
In the face of this, I will be encouraging all Nigerians who mean well, particularly our Benue people not to vote APC and it’s Muslim/Muslim agenda. This is an existential threat and must be treated as such.”
