Glory Ogbonna was honored by Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti and his wife Mrs. Priscilla Otti, recognizing her remarkable performance with the Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand.
During the gathering, the defender was welcomed by a warm handshake from the Governor, while she presented her Super Falcons jersey to him.
The Super Falcons concluded their journey in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup at the Round of 16 stage, facing a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat against England’s Three Lionesses.
Taking to Twitter, Glory Ogbonna shared her experience of visiting the Governor’s residence, expressing her gratitude for the warm reception.
“Deep appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the esteemed Governor of my beloved Abia State, and to the First Lady of Abia State, for their exceptional hospitality. It was truly an honor to share a meal in your mansion. I am immensely thankful,” her tweet conveyed.
Ogbonna participated in a single match for Nigeria during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
