2023 WWC: Australia beat France, reach first-ever World Cup semi-finals

During the shootout, the hosts had two golden opportunities to secure their triumph. However, goalkeeper McKenzie Arnold’s shot hit the post, while Clare Hunt’s attempt was thwarted by the French goalkeeper’s save.

This memorable victory marks Australia’s fourth triumph in the tournament, with their sole defeat having come at the hands of Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
