2024 Nigerian Air Force recruitment: General guidelines for applicants

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of its 2024 recruitment exercise for tradesmen and women, as well as non-tradesmen and women. Below are the key details and guidelines for applicants:

Application Process

  • Start Date: August 21, 2024
  • End Date: October 2, 2024
  • Application Fee: The process is FREE OF CHARGE. No payment is required at any stage of the recruitment exercise.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Nationality: Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth, with a valid National Identity Card/NIN or BVN.
  2. Age Limits:
    • Non-Tradesmen/Women: 18 to 22 years by September 20, 2025 (born between September 20, 2003, and September 20, 2005).
    • Tradesmen/Women: 18 to 25 years by September 20, 2025 (born between September 20, 2000, and September 20, 2005).
    • Special Cases (Chaplains Assistant/Assistant Imams, Driver/Mechanic): 18 to 28 years by September 20, 2025 (born between September 20, 1997, and September 20, 2005).
  3. Marital Status: Applicants must be single.
  4. Height: Minimum height is 1.66m for males and 1.63m for females.
  5. Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to NAF standards.
  6. Local Government Area Attestation Form: Must be signed by a high-ranking officer or a senior government official and accompanied by relevant identification.

Documents Required

  • Original Credentials: Birth certificate or Declaration of Age, educational/trade certificates, Indigeneship certificate, and Attestation to Good Character.
  • Passport Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos, stamped and countersigned by the appropriate officer.
  • Printed Documents: Acknowledgment Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, and Local Government Area Attestation Form.

Academic Requirements

  • Non-Tradesmen/Women: A minimum of 5 credits in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings.
  • Tradesmen/Women: ND/NCE certificates with at least lower credit, and the same 5 credits in relevant subjects. Special requirements apply to specific trades.

Special Notes

  • Applicants with HND, First Degrees, Post-Graduate Certificates, or University Diplomas are not eligible.
  • Medical professionals must have valid registration with relevant bodies and a current practicing license.
