The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, says it will soon announce a date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, mop-up test.

This was disclosed in JAMB’s weekly bulletin on Monday.

According to the board, the mop-up examination will cater to candidates who missed the main UTME due to biometric verification failures, those registered at its eight foreign centres, and others who missed their exams for “unacceptable reasons but were granted pardon.”

JAMB earlier conducted a rescheduled test for some candidates in Lagos and parts of the South-East who experienced technical difficulties during the exam.

“The date for the mop-up examinations for candidates who missed their 2025 UTME scheduled examination will be announced shortly,” the bulletin stated.

The board also cautioned candidates against relying on social media reports for the date, stressing that an official announcement will be made once the date is confirmed.

JAMB said the mop-up exam is a routine exercise aimed at ensuring that no qualified candidate is denied the opportunity to take the UTME.
