2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, DR Congo Seal Playoff Spots
Four African nations have officially booked their places in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs following the conclusion of the qualifying series on Tuesday night.
The countries include Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, and DR Congo, who all secured second-place finishes in their respective groups to advance.
Gabon clinched their playoff ticket after defeating Burundi 2–0, while Ivory Coast’s victory over Kenya helped them retain second place in Group F.
Cameroon finished behind Cape Verde in Group D to qualify, while the Super Eagles of Nigeria thrashed Benin Republic 4–0 to boost their goal difference and seal progression.
In Group B, DR Congo edged Sudan 1–0 to confirm their slot behind Senegal.
The playoffs are slated to hold in Morocco from November 13 to 16, 2025, where the four teams will battle for the remaining African tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
