2027: ADC governorship aspirant, Engr Andrew Aba visits Och’Idoma
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship aspirant in Benue State, Engr Andrew Aba, has received the blessing of the Och’Idoma, the paramount ruler of the Idoma Nation, after formally declaring his intention to run for governor.
Engr. Aba disclosed his governorship ambition to the traditional ruler during a courtesy visit, informing him of his plan to contest the 2027 Benue State governorship election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The Och’Idoma, while acknowledging the courage and boldness of the aspirant, commended him for stepping forward to seek the state’s highest political office.
He encouraged Aba to intensify his efforts and work harder towards realising his ambition.
The traditional ruler advised him to broaden his reach beyond his immediate constituency and strive to build acceptance across the major ethnic groups in the state, particularly the Tiv and Idoma nations.
The royal father also urged him to continue his engagement and goodwill across party lines, noting that such inclusive efforts could strengthen his political prospects.
On his part, Engr. Aba thanked the Ochidoma for the counsel and blessings, describing the interaction as encouraging and reassuring as he continues consultations ahead of the election.
The visit forms part of Aba’s ongoing consultations with traditional institutions and key stakeholders as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum in Benue State.
