Tinubu receives 2027 UN budget proposal
President Bola Tinubu has received a seven-volume proposal for the 2027 United Nations UN budget from Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the organisation, Jimoh Ibrahim.
Ibrahim presented the budget documents to Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The president expressed pride in the ambassador’s role during the meeting, telling him, “I am proud of your achievements.”
Ibrahim, who chairs the UN Committee on Budget and Administrative Matters, said the proposed budget would still undergo scrutiny and approval by member states.
He noted, however, that presenting the documents to Tinubu was an important step, given Nigeria’s involvement in the UN’s budgetary and administrative affairs.
The ambassador expressed hope that Nigeria’s participation in the process would yield positive results for the country.
