2Baba breaks silence on ‘kidnap’ claims, jokes about raising ransom

Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has responded to viral claims suggesting he was kidnapped, playfully announcing during a recent performance that he is now raising funds for his release.
The rumour gained traction after his mother, Rose Idibia, in a video circulated widely online, alleged that the singer was missing and may be held against his will by his new partner, Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State lawmaker.
Her plea for Natasha to “free her son” raised eyebrows, particularly in the wake of 2Baba’s ongoing divorce from actress Annie Idibia.
In a tongue-in-cheek reaction during the Acapella comedy show, 2Baba quipped, “Allegedly, I’ve been missing. Allegedly, I’ve been kidnapped. So, this show is to generate money for the kidnappers to release me.”
The remark, delivered in a lighthearted tone, appeared to poke fun at the swirling controversy, subtly dismissing the serious undertones of the claims.
