32-year-old notorious cultist arrested, police recover locally made gun in Delta

Police operatives from the CP-SAT team have arrested a 32-year-old notorious cultist and suspected armed robber, Tunde Akingbenomo, in the Oghara-Efe Community of Ethiope-West Local Government Area, Delta State.

Akingbenomo was apprehended at his residence on October 5, 2024, around 2:05 PM.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest in a statement sent to our correspondent in Warri.

“One locally made gun was recovered during the arrest,” SP Edafe stated.

He added that the suspect led operatives to an uncompleted building where two fabricated automatic Beretta pistols were also found.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
