Gunmen have reportedly killed at lease nine in an attack at Ungwan Dakwa village, in Birnin Gwari Local government area of Kaduna State.
The House of Assembly member-elect for Birnin Gwari State Constituency, Honourable Yahaya Birnin Gwari, confirmed the incident to Channels Television on Sunday.
According to him, the bandits attacked the community at about 2 pm on Saturday, killing the residents without any reason.
He added that some residents of the village were also injured in the attack.
The lawmaker-elect said the inured villagers were taken to hospitals at neighbouring Funtua in Katsina State for treatment
He added that others had ran away from the villages over fears that the gunmen may return for further attacks.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Police Command has not reacted to the incident.
