Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, a 37-year-old native of Kwara State, hails from a family with a rich political background. Her father, Ibrahim Bio, served as the former Minister of Sports during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. Dr. Ibrahim has carved her niche as a medical doctor, politician, and dedicated development practitioner.

In her role as a public servant, Dr. Ibrahim has been a staunch advocate for the United Nations Global Goals (SDGs). This commitment reflects her dedication to addressing critical global challenges and promoting sustainable development.

Political Career: Dr. Ibrahim has made significant contributions to the political landscape, particularly within the All Progressives Congress (APC). Before her recent appointment, she held the esteemed position of National President of the APC Young Women Forum (PYWF), showcasing her leadership skills and dedication to youth empowerment and women’s representation in politics. Additionally, Dr. Ibrahim served as the Senior Special Assistant on Health matters to the Governor of Kwara, demonstrating her commitment to public health and community welfare.

Other Roles: Beyond her political roles, Dr. Ibrahim is a serial humanitarian volunteer, driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable communities. She dedicated her efforts in the northeast region of Nigeria as part of The Presidential Committee on the NorthEast initiative (PCNI), where she played a vital role in providing support to internally displaced persons and vulnerable individuals.

Honours and Awards: Dr. Ibrahim has received several prestigious awards that recognize her outstanding contributions to various sectors. Notably, she was honored with the Clean Nigeria Ambassador award for her significant contributions in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene sector. In addition, she was bestowed with the UN Peace Ambassador award by the International Association of World Peace Advocates, recognizing her commitment to peace and advocacy. Furthermore, Dr. Ibrahim received a distinguished honorary award for her impactful contributions to education and support for the SDGs, supported by UNESCO Nigeria. She has also proudly represented Nigeria and Kwara as a speaker on esteemed international platforms like the United Nations and the African Union, amplifying her voice on critical global issues.
