FG suspends Dana Air operations

The Nigeria Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has declared the temporary cessation of Dana airline’s operations until thorough audits are carried out across its fleet.

This decision follows an incident on the runway involving Dana Air at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, as reported by Allnews.ng.

Keyamo emphasized that the audits must encompass safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and financial stability. The suspension aims to prioritize the safety and welfare of Nigerians.

In a statement, he said: “As the overseer of our nation’s aviation safety and regulatory compliance, recent events involving Dana Airline have raised significant concerns about both safety and financial viability. In light of these incidents and with the utmost priority being the safety and well-being of our citizens and travelers, I have instructed the immediate suspension of Dana Airline’s operations until a comprehensive audit is completed. This audit must cover all facets of safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and financial health to ensure compliance with our aviation standards.”
