Mrs. Favour Igiebor, who was featured in a viral video tearing her husband’s passport, has shared her perspective on the incident.

She explained that her actions were a culmination of long-standing personal struggles within her marriage.

Mrs. Igiebor described enduring significant hardships over the years and felt compelled to act for her own sense of justice. She emphasized that her sacrifice and suffering in the marriage were not to be dismissed lightly.

In her statement, Mrs. Igiebor urged viewers of the video not to jump to conclusions based solely on the brief clip. “The issue has been ongoing for a very long time,” she said. “I have been enduring until we reached Nigeria, where I decided to take this action. You need to understand the full context before making judgments. I am not acting out of madness; I have valid reasons for what I did.”

She explained that her decision to destroy the passport was made with consideration, choosing to act in Nigeria rather than in Europe where she might have reacted sooner. Mrs. Igiebor highlighted the need for understanding and empathy, sharing that she has faced numerous family issues and has been through a lot.

“I cannot continue to suffer in silence,” she added. “I endured for years, and I want people to understand that my actions reflect my long-standing frustration. Sometimes, actions speak louder than words, and this was my way of making my voice heard.”
