Benue Couple, Daughters buried after tragic road accident along Akwanga-Abuja road
The remains of Victor Tyohemba, his wife Mrs. Erdoo, and their two daughters, Miss Agnes Ngohide Angbiandoo and Miss Immaculate Sesughter Angbiandoo, have been laid to rest in their family home in Igbor, Benue State, following a tragic motor accident on New Year’s Day.
The family perished in a ghastly accident along the Akwanga-Abuja Road while traveling back to Abuja after celebrating Christmas and New Year in Makurdi.
The accident, which occurred on Saturday, claimed the lives of all four family members, leaving relatives and friends in mourning.
Victor Tyohemba, a 37-year-old accountant, his wife, and their daughters were remembered during a solemn funeral service on Monday, where family, friends, and community members gathered to pay their final respects. Emmanuel Tyohemba, Victor’s elder brother, had earlier recounted how he received the heartbreaking news of the accident and retrieved their bodies from the scene.
The family’s tragic loss has left a deep emotional scar, with many expressing shock and disbelief over the untimely deaths. The victims were laid to rest in Igbor, where their family home became the site of a mourning community. The accident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on Nigerian roads, as the family’s journey back.
