Tinubu submits N1.78tn 2025 FCT budget to National Assembly
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a proposed 2025 budget of ₦1.78 trillion for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to the National Assembly for approval.
The budget proposal was contained in a letter read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas during plenary, where the President noted that the submission aligns with Section 299 of the Constitution, which mandates the National Assembly to perform legislative duties for the FCT.
Tinubu stated that the budget prioritizes investments in healthcare, job creation, social welfare, agricultural productivity, and capital development.
He further explained that 85% of the capital allocation would be directed toward completing ongoing projects, while 15% would be allocated to new initiatives.
The President urged the lawmakers to fast-track the budget’s consideration and passage.
