Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has revealed that she has frozen her eggs as part of plans to expand her family.

Speaking during a chat on the JMatt Show, the 45-year-old singer explained that she took the step to safeguard her reproductive health and because she wants more sons rather than daughters.

“I don’t want a girl, I want more boys. I’ve actually done some egg freezing,” Savage said. “I’m not young, so I considered my age and decided to preserve my eggs while they’re still very healthy.”

Savage married music executive Tunji “TeeBillz” Balogun in 2013 and welcomed their son, Jamal, two years later. The couple divorced in 2018.

Widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential artists, the multi-award-winning performer recently released her fourth studio album, “This One Is Personal.”

Savage has also been candid about her personal life, joking that she is still searching for “someone’s son” who meets her lofty standards.

“I’m actually looking for someone who has a private plane and a yacht—someone without baby-mama drama because I can’t deal with that,” she said, noting that her specific requirements might be narrowing her dating options.

Earlier in May, the singer remarked that she avoids relationships with Nigerian men, claiming they“lack romance.”
