A member of the House of Representatives, Terseer Ugbor, has revealed that Benue State hosts the highest number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Nigeria’s North Central region.

Ugbor, who represents the Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency of Benue State, made the disclosure on Friday during an interview on Arise Television, which was monitored by IDOMA VOICE.

“It was a very tough experience, and we made every effort to visit all the IDP camps in Benue. We also visited Yobe and other northern states,” he said.

According to Ugbor, the visits provided insight into the ongoing crisis.

“We were able to understand why these invasions are happening and why there is an urgent attempt to take over the Benue Valley.

It is evident that the valley is rich in natural resources,” he explained.

He added that residents of Benue are being systematically displaced from their ancestral communities, stressing the need for urgent national attention to the situation.
