Ado, Akpokwu and Ogbadigbo Federal Constituency Hopeful, Honourable Inalegwu Adeje Ejembi has described the rare coincidence of the commencement of Ash Wednesday and the observance of Ramadan on the same day as a powerful symbol of unity and divine alignment.

Hon. Ejembi noted that the simultaneous observance by Catholic Christians and Muslims is more than a calendar occurrence, describing it as a significant moment that underscores shared spiritual values across faiths.

According to him, both Lenten season, which begins with Ash Wednesday and Ramadan represent periods of deep reflection, prayer, sacrifice, repentance, and renewed commitment to God.

“This is not a mere coincidence,” he stated. “It is a profound reminder that despite our diverse modes of worship, we are united by common values of faith, humility, compassion, and devotion to the Almighty. Let this be the beginning of greater unity and peace among us.”

He emphasized that the sacred seasons call on adherents of both Christians and Muslims to embrace self-discipline, promote charity, and strengthen their moral commitments. He urged Nigerians to use the opportunity to foster mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and national harmony.

Hon. Ejembi further encouraged citizens to rise above religious and ethnic divisions, noting that the alignment of these holy observances presents a unique opportunity to reinforce the spirit of togetherness and collective progress.

He congratulated Catholic Faithfuls on the commencement of Lenten journey and extended his goodwill to Muslim Fauthfuls as the began Ramadan, praying that the season brings spiritual renewal, unity, and abundant blessings to families and the nation at large.
