Peter Obi lied recklessly over sports investment — Onanuga

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has criticised NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Onanuga reacted to Obi’s call for increased Federal Government investment in sports.

In a post on X, Onanuga accused Obi of making reckless claims about government funding for sports.

He also questioned Obi’s record during his eight years as Anambra State governor.

Onanuga alleged that Obi’s administration failed to adequately support sportsmen and women in the state.

He also claimed that athletes with physical disabilities received poor treatment during Obi’s tenure.

Onanuga said Obi’s sports record in Anambra remained documented in the state’s archives.

He then faulted Obi for calling for greater Federal Government investment in sports.

“Headlines don’t lie like Peter Obi lies, recklessly,” Onanuga wrote.

He said Obi now speaks about increased government funding for sports despite his record in Anambra.
