Why Idoma should unite now (Opinion)

Sometimes I go to quite places to relax because it enables me to connect to nature.
It is also an avenue for me to reflect silently without any distraction from Radio, Television or my kids.
I was in such a quite place when I traveled recently to my village of Aokpe when the thought of the Idoma unity preoccupied my mind.
My senses were in their sharpest mood.

I thought of the strength in unity and the weakness in disunity.
I thought of how a Nation blessed with both human and other vast natural resources would always be at loggerheads with each other.
It is an absolute fact that, since the creation of Benue State in 1976, the Idoma Nation has not been considered for any number one elective positions in the state.

A silent majority like Idoma has been relegated to the background or worst still, subjected to playing the second fiddle permanently.
It is on this premise that the unity of our people becomes imperative.
We as a people have been greatly divided because of political party affiliations and ideological differences.

Sadly, our political elites whom ordinarily should preach unity have become the architects of divisions even the divisive agents themselves.
Therefore, for Idoma to move forward and attain an enviable height in the comity of nationalities, all hands must be on deck.

A unity summit comprises of all critical stakeholders must be convened as soon as possible.
We should be a nationality is feared and respected.

For any progressive and developmental ideas, we the Idoma people must unite irrespective of our political and ethnicity backgrounds.
My people, unity is everything and is the strength of every Nation.
Long live Idoma Nation.
