Video on dress code enforcement: BSU official position

Management of the Benue State University, Makurdi has become aware of a video trending on the social media wherein there was an altercation between a staff on special duty and a supposed female student of the University at one of the University’s entry gates.

Even as detailed background of what led to the verbal exchange between the duo is yet to be ascertained, Management notes with dismay and serious concern the attitude and words of the staff as demonstrated in the video.

Management has constituted a panel to investigate the matter and appropriate sanctions will be applied to those culpable for their actions and inactions.

Management hereby appeals to our dear students who are major stakeholders of the University, and the public to believe that the enforcement of the dress code policy is not intended to embarrass anybody and where there is an exception like the one in question, Management will step in to redress such as appropriate.

Our dear students are, however, enjoined to always dress decently and modestly while on campus.
