PDP candidate who defeated Abdulmumin Jibrin to defect to APC in Kano

Ali Datti -Yako, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last Saturday ‘s by-election for Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State has reportedly perfected plans to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

It was gathered that Mr Yako defeated former chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin-Kofa of APC with 35,094 vote margin.

While Mr Yako scored 48,601 votes, Mr Jibrin got13,507 votes.
During the build-up to the rerun election, sources revealed that APC leaders in the state had stroke a deal with Mr Yako to move to the ruling party after winning the election.

In keeping with the rumours, barely two days after Mr Yako was announced winner of the election, the lawmaker-elect was seen in viral pictures holding his Certificate of Return with the APC chairman, Abdullahi Abbas.

Another pictures showed Mr Yako shaking hands with the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, signifying that he dumped the PDP for APC.
Although Mr Yako did not officially announce his defection to APC, sources confided to journlaists that party leaders are planning to stage a grand reception for the newly-elected lawmaker.

Newsmen reports that Mr Yako, who is the political prodigy of Ibrahim Shekarau, the Senator representing Kano Central zone, would now team up with his Boss in the ruling APC in the state.
