Nigerians have applauded the Dunamis International Gospel Centre for coming to the aide of residents of Mararaba area of Nasarawa State by giving the dilapidated Boundary Road a new look.

Mararaba is a border community between Abuja and Nasarawa State.

The Boundary Road, before now has been a nightmare for people of the area due to its bad state.

During rainy season, motorists and commuters would slug it out with murky water while during dry season, it was a war between humanity and dust, however, all this came to an end following the intervention of the ministry.

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, the Senior Pastor of the Church, Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, commissioned the road the glory of God and to the use of humanity.

During the ceremony, residents of the area could not hold back their joy as danced jubilantly for the new look of their long-abandoned road.

Asked about the motivation behind the ceaseless humanitarian gestures of the ministry, the Senior Pastor, Dr. Paul Enenche, said the ministry was only following the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who is the master pacesetter.

His words, “The motivation is like what I read from the scripture earlier that we are the light of the world. A city set on the hill cannot be hid (Matthew 5:16).

“Jesus laid the foundation that we should go into the world and preach the gospel not just in words but in works. Which means, we should let the people see light, love, direction and developments and that is our undying and tireless passion at DIGC.

“The same passion with which we use to preach to people to repent is the same passion we use to reach out to them through efforts as this.

“This shows that if they can’t hear the gospel, let them also see the gospel and then come to Jesus who is our master.

“By God’s grace, were have embarked on several similar humanitarian works before now. We built classroom blocks in Benue, chapel in Wesley High School Otukpo, roofed buildings, empowered widows and the less-privileged. Like in Abuja here, we constructed the Area One road from the Old Federal Secretariat down to Dagba village. We electrified the place and several other things.

“I could recall that a village in Kuje for about many years never had drinkable water until the church came to their rescue. This is what Christianity is all about. All these were not done to impress anybody or bring external motivation but to let the people see the light and glorify God, who is in Heaven.”

The Minister of FCT, Musa Mohammed Bello, who was ably represented by Dabara Audu, thanked the church for coming to the rescue of the people.

He challenged other people, especially financial institutions follow the church’s footprints.

“ I want to thank God for what I am seeing today. I am young but with what I have read and seen, it is evident that most good things people are doing in the world today were copied from the church, which he mentioned to us during his sermon.

“Christ himself is a man of goodwill and that is what Dunamis has demonstrated today in Nasarawa.

“This road, which I have threaded upon today, is a Highway of Holiness. I want to challenge other churches to show the light just like Dunamis has been doing.”

In his remarks, the lawmaker representing Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal constituency, Hon. Jonathan Gaza Gbewfi, lauded the church for always putting smiles on the faces of people.

His words, “I am indeed overwhelmed with joy this morning. What is happening here is what is beyond what I could imagine because I had intended along with a colleague of mine to put this road in a budget but we have a God and a servant that can do beyond what a budget can do.

“In all honesty, I am surprised because I am living witness to what Dunamis has been doing. This is indeed a challenge to “big interests.” You can see banks flying along this road and the question is, what have they done put smiles on the faces of people?”

On his part, the paramount ruler of Karu, Esu Karu said, “I am thankful to God for what my eyes have seen today. I am grateful to be part of this very important occasion, the celebration of this monumental development that has been brought to us in Karu, in particular this Boundary  Road.

“I must confess that apart from our various governments, I have not seen or heard of any value addition of this monumental magnitude that has taken place within this local government. I am very conversant with these areas because they fall within my domain.

“For those of you who are conversant with this road, hitherto, would say it was impassable. Many people who reside in this place have made appeals and comments to government to come to their rescue to better their lives but we have seen the soccuor come through Dunamis. We are grateful for this benevolent gesture you have brought to this community.

Also speaking, FRSC Corps Marshal, Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi MFR, mni, who was represented by Deputy Corps Commanders, Arinze Agu, on his part, thanked the church for the construction of the road. He also urged users of the road to be safety conscious.

For commercial motorcyclists, otherwise known as Okada riders, the construction of the road is best thing that could happen to them.

Paul Agbo, President of Okada riders in the area, who spoke on their behalf, thanked the ministry for coming to their aide.

“We want to appreciate Daddy and Mummy for this kind gesture. Those of us plying this road know what we have been through every season.

“We have been praying that the government should come to our rescue but God has used Dunamis to help us. As you continue in this ministry, may you soar higher.”
