Idoma community bans use of traditional drums, public address system at burial, marriage ceremonies

Resolution of the security meeting held on Tuesday 19th May 2020 at the Ogbadibo Local Government Council hall with the Acting Local Government Chairman Hon Ochigbo Domfrank Alechenu Traditional rulers of Otukpa, Orokam and Owukpa and heads of all Government security agencies in Ogbadibo LGC of Benue state Nigeria to fight against the spread of covid-19 and criminal activities.

 

Approved by the Benue state government.

 

  1. Henceforth, all burial and marriage ceremonies must be approved by the district traditional, ward and clan heads.

 

  1. There should be no display of traditional drums and public address system

 

  1. Any community that fails to comply with these directives, the clan head or ward head in that community will be suspended and salary will be seized.

 

  1. All illegal checkpoints around Ogbadibo LGA in the name of COVID -19 is hereby banned, all checkpoint must be overseen by the major security agencies, not the youths.

 

  1. The trailer park in ADEGWU Orokam along Enugu-Obollo Afor express road is shutdown from business activities till further notice .

 

  1. All hotels and shops in the trailer park should suspend business activities till further notice to enable the security agencies monitor the inflows of the ALAMAJERIS and the criminals coming into Ogbadibo.

 

  1. Curfew from 8pm to 5am should be maintained until further notice.

 

In conclusion, the Acting chairman, traditional rulers, DPO , DSS and other government security agencies have asked that we should all obey this standing order approved by His Excellency Samuel Ortom Governor of Benue state.
