Nigerian Army recruitment 2020: SSC, DSSC examinations “postponed indefinitely”

The Nigerian Army has yet again deferred its qualifying exam for prospective recruits seeking enlistment into the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) and the Short Service Combatant commission (SSC), according to a report .

An internal army correspondence seen by the Gazette stated that the SSC and DSSC examinations have been “postponed indefinitely” till further notice.

The army did not provide details on why the November 14 exams were shelved, although it previously hinged the postponement of an earlier scheduled date, October 31, on the imposition of curfew in many parts of the country, in the fallout of the violence that marred the nationwide protests against police brutality.

Newsmen reported Tuesday that at least 4,302 candidates were shortlisted to sit for the computer-based competency test across six newly assigned zonal centres.

The Abuja centre had the most shortlisted candidates with 2096, while Gombe had 801. Other centres were Enugu 491, Asaba 352, Calabar 334 and Ibadan 228.
