Biafra: Seven facts about IPOB’S security outfit for South-East, South-South

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has floated a security outfit for the South- East and South-South regions of the country.

Below are what you should know about the security outfit:

1. It is called the Eastern Security Network.

2. IPOB said it was moved to establish ESN by the failure of governments of the two regions to battle insecurity.

3. The outfit is a vigilante group.

4. It is patterned after the Amotekun in the South-West and the Hisbah Police in the North.

5. It will ensure the safety of forests and farmlands in the regions.

6. It has the backing of the socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo

7. IPOB says the outfit is “not for the forceful declaration of Biafra”.
