There has been tension all over the country as regards the actual date of school resumptions in Nigeria.

Another clarification has been made on the issue to address the uncertainty due to the effect of the second wave of the pandemic.

Schools across the country will begin again on January 18 except the Ministry of Education says otherwise, the Federal Government stated on Tuesday.

Dr Sani Aliyu, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, announced this during a TV programme.

Aliyu explained: “in respects schools, I just want to through more light, what the minister announced yesterday was that they were going to conduct an examination, he didn’t say that they were going to alter the date. He announced they will survey the situation and let the country know.

So, for the time, it is still 18th January until the ministry of education snaps back either with an alternative period or reconfirm that.”

Students of the tertiary institution should get ready for the set dates, the opening of the NYSC orientation camp will also take place as scheduled.
