Benue guber race: Wide jubilation in Nongov, Ortom’s home town over early result
Ask a average ingidene of Mbabegha Clan, Ndzorov District, Nongov, Guma Local Government Area and he would bodily and confidently tell you ‘I am the next governor of Benue State.’
As at 8:00am Sunday morning, the cloud looks murky but the people of the area wear bright faces. All gaily dressed, marching to church to thank God in advance for the victory of their illustrious son, Samuel Ortom at the just concluded guber election in the state.
Meanwhile, the final result is yet to be announced.
When IDOMA VOICE visited the area Sunday morning, some people were seen flying the flag of the All Progressives Congress, while others were spotted armed with holy bible and broom, the trademark of the APC.
Ortom! Isho Chenge! Ortom!! Ortom!!! this paean rented the air.
In fact, the people of the area could not wait for the final result to be announced by the returning officer in the state as they are already making plans on how to host their son if he is eventually declared winner.
Speaking with IDOMA VOICE, an 8-year-old Tokwase who was seen displaying the flag of the APC said, “I am the next governor of Benue State.”
Some residents of the area who also spoke with our reporter said God has finally answered the cries of Benue people by giving them a man who FEARS HIM from their town.
The ex Honorable Minister who can aptly be described as an elect of God indulges in Evangelism, Aerobics, and Philanthropy. He is also a pace setting entrepreneur and administrator. This prudent manager of men and materials is an employer of labor and a mechanized farmer of repute.
Chief (Dr) Samuel Ioraer Ortom is happily married to the delectable yet unassuming Chief (Mrs) Eunice Erdoo Ortom. Their marriage is blessed with ten children and three grand children.
