It was a black Wednesday in Gboko, Benue State, as a day-old baby was found dead inside a drainage system in the early hours of the day.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the abandoned baby girl was found dead near Wisden Petrol station in Gboko.
It was further gathered that the baby was already dead before she was found inside the gutter by a good citizen who called the attention of others to the lifeless child.
According to eyewitness account, the mother of the abandoned baby had thrown her into the gutter immediately after giving birth to the child.
Eyewitnesses also said it is common in the area especially with teenage girls who are fond of dumping their newborn babies in the gutter.
The attention of the police in Gboko was called to the incident who excavated the remains of the dead baby.
