Delegates of the just concluded governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State became stranded in Makurdi yesterday, saying the gubernatorial aspirants abandoned them after the election.

LEADERSHIP reports that about 1066 took part in the primaries to elect the flag-bearer of the ruling party.
They had come to Makurdi from various local government areas of the state.

It was however gathered that many of the delegates were not given transport allowances to enable them return to their various constituencies, and they were seen roaming the streets after the party primaries.
According to sources, the aspirants have not settled some of the delegates, hence, they withdrew and or lost in the contest.
A delegate who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity claimed that some of them were from the Zone C while others came from Zones B and A.
He said they are facing untold hardship because they cannot located the aspirants who they came to vote.
