The Senate Minority Leader and lawmaker representing Benue South District, Senator Abba Moro, has condemned the recent killing of four individuals of Ezza-Ezekuna origin in Azaoke, Ado Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.

The attack was reportedly carried out by suspected armed men from Akparata community in Ohaukwu LGA, Ebonyi State.

Senator Moro expressed deep concern over the escalation of the communal crisis in Ebonyi State and its spillover into Ado LGA, urging the warring parties to cease hostilities.

In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel John, the senator decried the continuous loss of lives and destruction of properties among the Ezzas and Effiumites in Ado LGA.

“Senator Moro decries the Ezza/Effium crisis in Ebonyi State that has spilled over to Ado LGA, leading to continued loss of lives and properties of the Ezzas and Effiumites in the LGA,” the statement read.

He condemned the latest attack, in which over four members of the Ezza-Ezekuna community were murdered in cold blood at Azaoke, and called on the Benue State Government to urgently address the situation to prevent further bloodshed.

Senator Moro also urged security agencies to intensify efforts to forestall additional attacks and ensure that his constituents can carry out their daily activities without fear.

The senator expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and assured them of his commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and properties in the affected communities.

“It is imperative to halt the unprovoked attacks and work towards lasting peace,” he said.
