The senator representing Benue South Senatorial District has lamented the exclusion of his constituency from the ministerial list.
IDOMA VOICE reports that President Bola Tinubu submitted a 28-man list to the Senate for screening last week.
However, President Tinubu nominated Prof. Joseph Utsev from the Tiv speaking area of Benue State.
The development triggered mixed reactions among Idoma people,
Speaking on the floor of the Senate during the ministerial screening on Monday, Senator Moro begged President Tinubu to ensure fairness by nominating someone from Benue South for the position.
He said, “Without prejudice to my support for Prof. Joseph Utsev. I want to say that I come from a part of Benue State that is a minority. I want to say, therefore, while I am appealing to my colleagues to confirm the nomination, Prof Utsev, that looking at the configuration of our system and in ruling on the point of order raised, you indicated that Mr. President will bring more names, and in bringing more names, especially from Benue, the name should come from Benue South to complement our efforts at integrating unity in Nigeria.”
