The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, expresses shock over the death of former Ogbadibo Council Chairman, Hon. Simon Umoru also known as The Voice.
Hon. Umoru, a renowned politician and an illustrious son of Orokam community in Ogbadibo LGA, died on Wednesday morning.
Senator Moro says Hon. Umoru was a perfect gentleman, a peace maker, friend of all and a good party man who recorded tremendous success when he served as Council Chairman and had been contributing greatly to the growth of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbadibo, Benue South and Benue State at large.
He says the deceased passed on to the great beyond at a time his elderly and wise counsels are most needed by emerging leaders, especially his son, Hon. David Umoru, who just emerged the PDP consensus candidate for Ogbadibo Council poll slated for May.
The Senator sympathizes with the family and the entire Ogbadibo people and prays God to grant the late elder statesman eternal rest.
