The Benue State Police announced the successful rescue of three abducted children in Rivers State on Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP. Catherine Anene, revealed this information, stating that two of the children, Philomena Kpaakpa and Benedict Kpaakpa, have been reunited with their parents.
However, the third child, Godsgift Julius, is yet to be identified by their parents.
It was reported that in September, Philomena Kpaakpa (6 years old) and Benedict Kpaakpa (2 years old) were taken from their mother’s kiosk in front of their home in Makurdi metropolis by an unidentified woman.
The woman had lured the two children away with the promise of a N1000 change while offering them a local snack.
Anene in a statement noted, “You will recall that on 24th September, 2023 at 0730hrs, the family of Godwin Kpaakpa of Badagry Street, opposite St. Peters Church Wurukum, Makurdi reported that two of their children were missing; Philomena Kpaakpa aged 6 and Benedict Kpaakpa who is less than two years old.
