At 30 worshipers were abducted from a mosque in Tsafe town, the headquarters of Tsafe Local Government Area in Zamfara State.
The incident unfolded on Thursday morning when terrorists invaded the mosque during the morning prayers.
According to sources, the assailants, known for terrorizing the area, stormed the mosque and opened fire with sophisticated weapons, before forcefully taking the victims into the nearby forest.
Efforts by this reporter to reach the Zamfara State Police Command for comment proved unsuccessful at the time of this report. ASP Yazid Abubakar, the state Police Public Relations Officer, was unavailable for comment as calls to his phone went unanswered.
