Abounu, Moro, Ngbede, other PDP elders call for party unity in Benue south

Benue State Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu, Benue State PDP chairman,

Sir. John Ngbede , Senator, Benue South Senatorial District, Sen. Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, member, House of Representatives, Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal constituency, Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo , and other leaders of the party in Benue South have called for party unity to enable the party retain it’s position as the party of choice in the area.

The party leaders stressed the need for everyone to close ranks and work together to strengthen the party and consolidate it’s position in the area, in addition to ensuring that the geopolitical zone produces the governor of the state in 2023.

The leaders, party elders and executive council members of the party from the 9 local government areas in Benue South met on friday at the Otukpo country home of the deputy governor to celebrate the new year.

Engr Abounu, who said he decided to host them to celebrate their successful navigation through a very difficult year, described 2020 as a challenging one for all Nigerians, with the return of recession, the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the surge in insurgency, banditry, kidnappings, killings by herdsmen, armed robbery and other acts of criminality.

He accused the APC led Federal Government of failing to deliver on it’s key promises to Nigerians and allowing insecurity in the country to persist.

He charged PDP faithfuls to buckle up and rise to the challenge of voting out the APC in 2023.

In their separate speeches, the party Zonal chairman, Hon. Godwin Owulo, as well as Comrade Patrick Abba Moro, Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo, Dr-Godwin Emmanuel Oyiwona , Hon. Inalegwu Akatu, Hon Ezekiel Awulu Adaji , Hon. George Alli and the party chairman, Sir John Ngbede, all emphasised the need to come together, and to help strengthen and further extend the reach and acceptance of the party.

They commended the deputy governor for initiating the together, which was held in strict compliance with the protocols of the NCDC.
